Environmental Health is the practice of disease and accident prevention. This is achieved by inspections and through educational discussions with licensed operators of programs within our jurisdiction. On complaint investigations, homeowners / occupants are given reasons behind our orders to abate the problems that have been brought to our attention.

Persons in need of information related to any of the services covered by the Environmental Health Division are asked to contact the Environmental Health Director. He is available in the Health Department every weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. During non-office hours he is out in the field responding to your requests and complaints.

Miscellaneous Programs:

	Rabies Control - Investigation of all reported animal bites
	Enforces Applicable Sections of the City's Codified Ordinances
	Nuisance Complaints - These complaints vary considerably. The sanitarian investigates unsanitary conditions of insect infestations, garbage problems, rodent infestation and the list goes on.
	Lead Poisoning - Residential environmental assessment, investigation and education. This program is conducted in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Health.
	Food-borne illness investigations.
